Acorn achieved the internationally recognised Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody certification. This is demonstrating our commitment to the sustainability of natural resources and to reducing the impact on the environment, while promoting responsible forest management worldwide. In short, the paper we use can be traced from seed to delivery and is certified to that end. If you choose FSC, you’re printed materials will be produced in accordance to FSC guidelines and be accredited with the emblem and statement. Only a small percentage of companies in the UK can offer this.

Acorn recognises the importance of environmental issues and considerations, and we take this in to account at all stages of decision-making, development, production and marketing processes.

1. The reduction of harmful gases and odours into the atmosphere.
2. Reduction of noise levels below statutory requirements to cause the least practicable inconvenience to our neighbours and for reasons of health and safety.
3. Conservation of natural resources used in production operations, particularly in the use and development of packaging.
4. Conservation of energy through systems and transport.
5. Minimisation of waste in production and packaging.
6. Provision of safe, hygienic and attractive working environments having regard to the nature of the activities undertaken.
7. Treatment and disposal of waste by the least objectionable option that is practicable.
8. Improvement where practicable of the visual appearance of our operations.
9. Co-ordinate deliveries to reduce the transport costs and energy.
10. The responsible design, operation and maintenance of processes and services to reflect the principles above.
